NILAI UNIVERSITY SIGNS MOU WITH 31 THAILAND HIGH SCHOOLS

Nilai, 7th August 2022 – Nilai University (N.U) and 31 high schools from Thailand signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to develop programs that are suitable to the needs of Thai students and regarding cultural exchanges. This included future opportunities for Thai students of the schools to be accepted into Nilai University’s Foundation, Diploma and Degree programmes.

The Thai delegates included 31 headmasters and administrators, headed by Dr. Kamol Rodklai, advisor to the Thai Ministry of Education. Professor Dato’ Dr. Azhar Ismail, Vice Chancellor of Nilai University was present at the ceremony.

During the signing ceremony, Mr. K. Thirukumaran a/l Kumarasamy, Online Distance Learning Coordinator presented on the Learning Management System for Online learning and Online study. The blueprint presented by Mr. Thirukumaran will form a basis for the Thai schools to adapt their own learning methods in the effort to ensure continuous education during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The second presentation was on Online Learning during COVID-19 Pandemic by Ms. Rekha Prakash, Senior Lecturer & Co-curriculum Coordinator of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Mr. Peter Anthony of the Marketing Department presented on the programmes offered at Nilai University and regarding the qualifications needed by Thai students to enter the university. He informed that the university has a strong international student base and is equipped with the newest teaching methods to ensure a holistic education for both domestic and international students.

At the end of the ceremony, the 31 representatives were given a tour of the university and visited the aircraft hangar with 2 of Nilai university’s aircrafts, which are used as teaching tools for the students in the Diploma and Advance Diploma, Aircraft Maintenance Engineering programmes. These equip students with first-hand experience in order to have a deeper understanding of the programmes they partake in. Professor Dato’ Dr. Azhar Ismail mentioned that Nilai University is pleased to work with the 31 schools to ensure that the educational needs of the Thai students are met and that providing quality education is a priority of the university. He added that the university is MQA and KPT approved and all programmes are accredited by the Board of Engineers Malaysia, Malaysian Optical Council, Nursing Board Malaysia and other professional bodies.
