NILAI UNIVERSITY HOSTS ‘JELAJAH SKUAD CELIK KEWANGAN 2025’ TO BOOST FINANCIAL LITERACY
Nilai University became a hub for financial empowerment as it hosted the Jelajah Skuad Celik Kewangan 2025 roadshow. The event, organised by the Financial Education Network (FEN) and supported by Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) for Financial Literacy Month (FLM) 2025, brought together more than hundred of its students and secondary school teachers from across the state for a dynamic, hands-on workshop.
The full-day workshop equipped participants with practical tools for lifelong financial health, diving deep into critical topics such as saving strategies, debt management, investment fundamentals, and protection against financial scams. To bridge theory with practice, the session featured a unique highlight: interactive exhibitions and mobile service vehicles. These mobile units provided teachers and students with immediate, hands-on access to financial advisors and services, turning complex concepts into tangible action plans.
Expert speakers from AKPK, KWSP, PERKESO, MYFutureJobs, and BNM enriched the learning experience with real-world advice and case studies, ensuring the lessons were both relatable and immediately applicable.
Nilai University's FinTech, Accounting and Finance Enthusiasts (FAFE) Club played an active role, facilitating peer-to-peer discussions and workshops. This involvement underscored the university's commitment to creating a supportive ecosystem for financial learning.
Vice-Chancellor of Nilai University, Professor Dato' Dr. Azhar Ismail in his opening address, emphasised the importance of such initiatives. “At Nilai University, we are committed to equipping our students with both knowledge and practical skills to navigate today's financial landscape. We are proud to be one of the host for the Jelajah Skuad Celik Kewangan 2025, which empowers both our students and teachers across Negeri Sembilan, helping everyone make smarter financial decisions and fostering a financially aware community.”
By concluding the workshop, participants left with more than just information but they gained the confidence to implement strategies for long-term financial security and independence, marking a significant step forward in the region's financial literacy.
