Introduction
Automotive Engineering has been identified as a vital component in the National Automotive Policy (NAP) 2014 in which the target is to make Malaysia a competitive automotive industry for domestic, regional and global markets.  One of the objectives identified for the NAP is to ensure orderly development as well as long term competitiveness and capability of the domestic automotive industry as a result of market liberalisation.  
 
To meet this objective, the Government has focussed on increasing the number of graduates in the field of automotive engineering throughout the country as well as improving the quality of the current automotive engineering programmes.  
 
The main aim of the Diploma in Automotive Engineering programme is to prepare students to function effectively and competently as technicians in the Automotive Engineering field. By doing so, the programme will contribute in meeting the human resource needs in the field of Automotive Engineering at the national as well as international level.   In addition, the programme will also be offered to international students, expanding Malaysia’s influence in the field of engineering to foreign shores.

Entry Requirements
SPM / SPMV / O-Level 3Cs including Mathematics and 1 Science/Technical/Vocational subject AND a pass in English
UEC 3Bs including Mathematics and 1 Science/Technical/Vocational subject AND a pass in English
Matriculation / Foundation Minimum CGPA 2.00
Vocational and Technical Certificate (MQF Level 3) in related field Minimum CGPA 2.00 AND 1 year working experience in related field or completed 1 semester 'program pengukuhan'
Certificate in Engineering/ Engineering Technology (MQF Level 3) Minimum CGPA 2.00
