Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Ali Redhauddin ibni Tuanku Muhriz, 35, is the eldest son of His Royal Highness Tuanku Muhriz ibni Almarhum Tuanku Munawir, the Yang di-Pertuan Besar Negeri Sembilan, and Her Royal Highness Tuanku Aishah Rohani Binti Almarhum Tengku Besar Mahmud, the Tunku Ampuan Besar Negeri Sembilan.

Tunku Ali completed his early education in Malaysia, then went on to further his studies in the United Kingdom, attending Marlborough College, and then the University of Cambridge, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in History and Social and Political Sciences.

Upon graduation, he joined McKinsey & Company, the management consulting firm, working on projects globally - in the United States, Europe and Asia – and serving a wide range of clients in different industries. In 2004, with a desire to serve his country, he joined Khazanah Nasional Berhad in its Investments Division, working on initiatives such as the GLC Transformation Programme, and helping make new investments in financial services throughout the region. He also led projects in emerging sectors such as Leisure & Tourism and Creative Industries, including involvement in projects such as Legoland Malaysia, Kidzania Kuala Lumpur and Iskandar Malaysia Studios.

He left Khazanah in 2010 to pursue a Masters in Public Administration at the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, graduating as an Edward S. Mason Fellow.

Presently, Tunku Ali is working towards improving educational opportunities in Malaysia. He is the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Munarah Foundation, a Founding Trustee of Teach for Malaysia and a Member of Council of Marlborough College Malaysia. In addition, he is a Royal Fellow at Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

Tunku Ali sits on the boards of several Khazanah portfolio companies, including Asia Capital Reinsurance Malaysia (a financial institution regulated by Bank Negara), Themed Attractions and Resorts, Destination Resorts and Hotels and Iskandar Malaysia Studios.

In 2009, following his father’s accession to the throne, he was conferred the title of Tunku Besar Seri Menanti and made a member of the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang in Negeri Sembilan. He is also an Honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army of Malaysia.
