Graduates of today face a different set of challenges compared to those from yesteryears. A lone scroll, long thought of as a passport to a bright future, no longer guarantees success in life. Instead, strong academic performance is a criterion which comes second to other skills such as the ability to communicate, function well in society and think critically. This lecture will focus on the need to adopt a multi-pronged approach in tertiary education in order to develop graduates who are not only well-prepared to face the trials of a fast-developing world, but also able to fulfill their responsibility to society in general.
